Why Can't AFI Faculty Have a Salary That Keeps Up with Inflation?
The latest on negotiations and our upcoming bargaining session December 2nd.
Greetings AFI Faculty, Fellows, and Supporters!
We’re back with a bargaining update to let you know that 87% of faculty signed a letter to AFI CEO Bob Gazzale and the AFI Board of Trustees. The letter called for a salary increase commensurate with inflation, no salary rollbacks for future faculty, and health insurance for all faculty.
Faculty sent the letter to Bob and the trustees before their recent board meeting. The letter had an impact! After weeks of stalling, Bob’s team has finally agreed to the next bargaining date of Monday, December 2.
Union contract negotiations have been ongoing for thirteen months with Bob’s administration causing frequent delays. Faculty are ready to wrap this up so we can put all our energy back into our Fellows, filmmaking, and families.
All AFIC has to do is agree to the basic, affordable proposals we have made for a salary increase commensurate with inflation, no salary rollbacks for future faculty, and healthcare for all faculty.
